Dystatic-Seasoning

Single Conductor Cable

  • Removes the majority of the permanent stretch of the entire length thus greatly reducing the seasoning period
  • The cable diameter profile is reduced uniformly throughout the entire length of the cable
  • This uniform diameter profile reduces the uncertainty on the selection of flow tube sizes for better well head pressure control*
  • Reduces the frequency of normalizing (tightening) of the cable throughout the cable life
  • DYSTATIC-SEASONING is widely accepted by the cased hole service companies with over 8,000,000 ft. in use today
  • A final inspection report is provided listing the cable diameter before and after the DYSTATIC-SEASONING process which is recorded during the process by multiple state-of-the-art laser micrometers
  • DYSTATIC-SEASONING maintains the manufacturer’s warranty by never exceeding their maximum recommended working load

*Normal outer armor wear will eventually result in some tapering

Multi Conductor Cable

  • Removes the majority of "new" cable initial permanent (constructional) stretch, reducing the cable diameter uniformly throughout the entire length of the cable
  • Improves accurate primary depth acquisition with new cables
  • Reduces the need to yo‐yo new cables on their first runs, hence saving expensive rig time
  • Maintains the manufacturer’s warranty by never exceeding the cable working load limit
  • Verifies the working condition of the cable before it is installed on a wireline unit by the detailed inspections and working load tests which is part of the DYSTATIC-SEASONING process
  • Includes a final inspection report listing cable diameter measurements recorded by state‐of‐the‐art laser micrometers
  • The existing Dystatic-Seasoning facility can safely apply up to 25,000 lbs. tension, controllable with 20 lbs. increments and can process cables up to 50,000 ft. in length
  • Over 3,000,000 ft. of cable has been successfully subjected to this process during its development & field use
